"2021 is the 34th year for Maumee Valley Veterinary
Clinic, and I have been privileged to work alongside my
husband, Dr. Nahrwold, since opening day.  Just as our
children enjoyed watching their father examine pets and
perform surgeries in the 1980’s, now we have
grandchildren who come to visit the clinic, ranging in
age from infant to seven years old.  (As you other
grandparents know, they are such a blessing!)

I just realized recently that I have lived in the Woodburn
area longer than anywhere than anywhere else,
including my hometown, Markle, Indiana.  I graduated
from Huntington North High School and Ball State
University.  My favorite hobby is music.  Even though I no
longer teach elementary music, I am still involved in
choir at our church, Ascension Lutheran.   Another hobby
is vegetable and fruit gardening."

“I began working for Dr. Nahrwold in February, 2017.  My
love for animals began when I was young.  My family
always had dogs & cats while I was growing up.  I started
working at a veterinary clinic in high school & knew that
it was my calling.  I since then have worked at 3 clinics
for a total of 7 years of experience in the veterinary
field.  I became a client at Maumee Valley Veterinary
Clinic while I was in between jobs in 2013 and loved the
thorough exam that was performed on my Pitbull mix,
Kyra.  It was very obvious MVVC was passionate about
their love & care for animals, as well as their
appreciation for the clients.  This made it a very easy
decision when I decided to join their team.  I look very
forward to building a relationship with the clients & their
pets. ”

“I grew up in the country on the Allen/Whitley county
line.  After graduating from Columbia City High
School, I attended and graduated from Taylor
University (Upland, IN) with a degree in Biblical
Literature.  While working to earn money for grad
school, I met and married a farmer-mail man and the
rest is history.  I and my husband, John, have two

Animals have always been a part of my life for as
long as I can remember.  I share my house with four
long-haired cats and also a Great Pyrenees.   Also
part of the family is a horse and seven barn cats

My husband and I began bringing our pets to Dr.
Nahrwold shortly after the clinic opened in 1987.  Our
first cat that we brought finally succumbed to kidney
disease this summer, just 2 weeks shy of being 21
years old, Dr. Nahrwold’s oldest patient to that date.
In 1991 I joined the staff as a receptionist-assistant,
and then in 1997 I moved into a more flexible
position cleaning the office allowing me to be a stay
at home mom.

Besides my love for animals, I enjoy playing the
French horn and trumpet in the Woodburn Missionary
Church band, teaching the ladies’ FLOCK, helping
with Bible School and occasionally serving in the
nursery.  In my spare time, I like to garden, care for
my beloved animals and chauffeur my two children
to various lessons, practices, activities, and events.”

I began working for Dr Nahrwold in April, 2019.  I have always had a passion for animals and had a variety growing up.  I’m originally form Ohio, but married a man from Indiana.  We live in New Haven withour two children.  We have been bringing our pets to Dr Nahrwold since 2006. Seeing firsthand how Maumee Valley Veterinary Clinic and entire staff cares for all animals,  I knew they would also be great to work for.  I look forward to meeting new and “old” clients alike, as well as their human counterparts!

“I started working at the clinic in 1992 after moving to the
area with my family from Lafayette.  I have 2 dogs, a
boxer and a dachshund, and 6 cats!  I have enjoyed
getting to know our clients and their pets.  It is awesome
to see the love and care our clients have for their pets!”
